Cathedra and Vivarium Magazine

The Vivarium Cultural Studies Cathedra  is a group of intellectuals, emerged in 1990. It has associated the “José Lezama Lima” Humanistic Studies Classroom and the homonymous magazine.

Goals:

Discuss the culture and spiritual life of our society, in order to strengthen identity and humanistic values, promote respectful dialogue among currents of thought and highlight the scientific contributions of great Cuban figures throughout history.
Vivarium magazine is the spokesperson for the research results and the scientific and cultural activities of the Chair. It publishes annually two numbers and two books that compile monographs and essays.

Activities:

  • Theoretical sessions
  • Creation workshops, poetry and essay contests.
  • Recitals and readings.
  • Research symposiums, congresses, conferences and teaching seminars.
  • Presentations of books and exhibitions.
  • Commemorations.
